Entry Requirements

Onshore Students

Applicants must be 18 years of age at the commencement of their course, as evidenced by their Passport (copy of passport must be provided).

  • Current IELTS Academic 5.5; OR
  • Current TOEFL IBT score of 46; OR
  • Current PTE Academic score of 42; OR
  • General English Certificate (Upper Intermediate Level); OR
  • English for Academic Purpose Certificate; OR
  • The applicant, who, in the 2 years before applying for a Subclass 500 (student) visa, has successfully completed a substantial component of a course leading to a qualification from the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) at the Certificate IV level or higher that was conducted in Australia and in English, while the applicant was holding a student visa.

Students must have satisfactorily completed a minimum of year 12 or equivalent; OR completed studies equivalent to an Australian Year 12 qualification from an English language speaking country.

Students must provide copies of the following:
  • All CoEs issued (previous and current)
  • Certificates / Testamurs issued
  • Statements of attainment / record of results / transcripts issued
  • Applicants who have not completed 6 months of their principal course will not be accepted, unless they are granted Release from their training provider in the name of Australian Careers Education.
Note:
  • All supporting documentation must be certified / verified by the Education / Migration Agent.
  • All documents that are in languages other than English must be translated by a designated authority of the applicant’s country of residence or a NAATI translator in Australia.

Offshore Students

Applicants must be 18 years of age at the commencement of their course, as evidenced by their Passport (copy of passport must be provided).

5 Occupational English Test OET a score of at least B for each test component of the OET.
Students must have satisfactorily completed a minimum of year 12 or equivalent; OR completed studies equivalent to an Australian Year 12 qualification from an English language speaking country.
  • Evidence to show that the student meets the GTE requirement for a student visa. This must include a statement in the student’s application form that they intend to stay in Australia temporarily and/or documentation to support such claims. The statement must be written by the applicant even if using an agent.
  • Support documentation must be attached which can include:
    • Proof of employment – the student’s current or most recent employment which includes pay-slips or a contract. The student can also attach their most recent curriculum vitae or résumé. The curriculum vitae or résumé should include employment and educational history.
    • Qualifications – a certified copy of the student’s academic transcripts, Educational Certificate (Degree, Diploma etc.) or letter/statement from their overseas Education Institution.
    • We will consider your circumstances, your immigration history, if you are a minor and the intentions of a parent, legal guardian or spouse, and any other relevant matter.
  • Evidence of sufficient funds to cover their travel costs and 12 months of living and tuition fees for them and their accompanying family members, as well as school costs for any school aged dependents; OR
  • Evidence that their spouse or parents are willing to support them and they have an annual income of at least AUD 60,000 for single students or at least AUD 70,000 for students that are accompanied by family members; OR
  • A letter of support from Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade or Department of Defence.
Note:
  • All supporting documentation must be certified / verified by the Notary or designated authority of the applicant’s country of residence OR Education / Migration Agent.
  • All documents that are in languages other than English must be translated by a designated authority of the applicant’s country of residence or a NAATI translator in Australia.
